Information You Submit
Search forms send the name, telephone number, or address you enter to the outside provider that supplies results. Howard County People Search does not retain its own copy of those searches. When you contact us, we receive the details you choose to send and use them to answer your message.
Information Collected Automatically
Our hosting systems create ordinary server logs that may include an IP address, browser type, visited pages, and timestamps. Aggregated log data helps maintain the service and shows which resources visitors use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where applicable.
How the Data Is Used
The limited data described above supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and page improvement. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual user profiles.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to Maryland and Howard County government portals, court offices, library collections, and outside search services. Information submitted on another service is controlled by that service's privacy rules. The same applies to sponsored search results, which come from a third-party provider.
When Data May Be Shared
Hosting and support vendors process server logs for us. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information already described. Data may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it; otherwise, visitor data is not shared.
How We Protect Your Data
An encrypted connection protects data in transit. Server logs are retained only for as long as the stated purposes require. Since no visitor accounts exist, Howard County People Search stores no user password or account profile.
Visitors Under 18
The service is designed for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. Contact us if a minor has submitted such information so it can be removed.
Your Data Rights
The Maryland Online Data Privacy Act, effective October 1, 2025, gives covered consumers rights that may include access, correction, deletion, and opting out of specified processing. Government entities and public information are excluded from that law. We can check our contact mailbox and server logs for the small amount of data we hold. Use the Contact page for a request. Records held by Howard County, the Maryland Judiciary, or other Maryland custodians remain outside our control, so correction or access requests for those records must go to the office that keeps them. Maryland's Personal Information Protection Act, Commercial Law ยง 14-3504 et seq., separately addresses data security and breach notice.
